What you're looking at is a personal aggregator of objects I've stored on various sites around the web. It makes it easier to point to a list of things I think are interesting and it has an added bonus of providing a way to use tags across all these different services. The list of sites are somewhere on this page (depending on what I finally did with the layout). I use these sites as most anyone else does. Use their forms or bookmarks or upload tools to start the items and at regular intervals this site sucks data about those items back into one database. I could make it sound really complex, but that would all be a lie.
Web 2.0 is great, but at a certain point one can feel too distributed. You've got news stories here, pictures of your pet dust bunnies over there, and in the cellar you keep your favorite wines.
Driven by a desire to try and find a new way to integrate all the data I attach myself to back into my own website and inspired by Bruce Sterling's talk Internet of Things, among other things, I've written a de-2.0-ifier. Or, to use hijack a more common phrase, a personal Web of Web Things.
I want to integrate this with the core site but its going to take some design inspiration that I just haven't had yet. Until then enjoy the solo show...
